Government funding to study can help dramatically reduce the costs of further education, and in some cases you may be subsidised so that you pay nothing* to gain a qualification.
Skills Victoria supports and facilitates access to training and tertiary education opportunities so that Victorians can acquire higher skills that are utilised by, and contribute to the success of Victorian Businesses.
Both Australian State and Commonwealth Governments offer funding designed to support the skills development of individuals and employees. Understanding and knowing the Government funding opportunities available to both businesses and individuals can often be complex but SETsolutions can help.

What is VTG (Victorian Training Guarantee)?
SETsolutions is registered to deliver many Government funded training programs nationally and actively investigates new Government initiatives designed to benefit employers, their employees and job seekers.
The Victorian Training Guarantee (VTG) allows people who wish to gain a higher level of qualification (education) an opportunity to complete training that is easily accessible. The VTG gives individuals the chance to gain new skills and upgrade their skills through further learning, in order to build their employability.
Eligibility Criteria for Employee/ Individual
Your employees or individuals may be eligible for Government subsidised training if they meet one of the following citizen/residency status:
- Australian citizen
- Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
- New Zealand citizen
And are any of the following:
- an applicant 20 years or under
- an applicant seeking a Foundation Skills course (Ready SET Work)
- an applicant who is an Apprentice
- an applicant seeking a higher qualification than they currently hold
